When you think of the most challenging relationships you have in your life, do you notice yourself getting caught in the same patterns and dynamics that you can’t seem to change?
You may be playing in the drama triangle.
The Drama Triangle, coined by Stephen Karpman, is a simple yet effective framework to understand how two parties unconsciously take on different roles, called the Rescuer, Victim, and Persecutor, that leave both sides in drama-intense relationships.
Do you play the role of a rescuer, the one who attempts to find their self worth in ‘giving’ yet finds it difficult to receive or take care of themself?
Or the role of a victim, the one who acts helpless, always asking for advice from others, unable to do it yourself?
Or maybe the role of persecutor, controlling, blaming, critical, oppressive, rigid in your actions with others?
From a young age, we learn to play these roles to keep us safe and protect us from being hurt, but these dynamics actually keep us separate from feeling connected to others we love.
During this deep dive, we’ll explore and understand the drama triangle and which of these roles we take on in relationships. We’ll use the power of sound and guided visualisation to help us uncover how we’re playing these roles and develop new awareness to shift these dynamics. There will also be facilitated breakout circles to connect and share our wisdom with each other.
This deep dive is for you if:
- You want to shift the dynamic with a relationship you have in your life that you can’t seem change
- You want to develop more meaningful, balanced and loving relationships with others
- You want to better understand the roles you’re playing in your relationships and the impact it has on others
- You want to understand how you can more fully get your needs met and feel more satisfied with your relationships
